Acts 12:
- Verse 5 presents a puzzling reality to me. It indicates that the prayers of believers were the reason God sent an angel to deliver Peter from prison. (see Luke 10:2 for a similar concept) How does this fit with God’s sovereign plan and will? Did God will the prayers too? Regardless of the cause I must obey the command to pray in all seasons, for all things; seeking God’s will.
- NOTE: The consequences of God’s answer to their prayers was the execution of the sentries whom the angel snuck Peter by. The will of God is often not as neat and clean as we would like to think.
