Jeremiah 17:

• Vs. 9 – If “the heart is deceitful…and desperately sick” why do we not FIRST look outside ourselves for help and guidance BEFORE moving on with preferences and assumptions? Yes, we pray. But I’m afraid that our prayers are too often rote habits, not the desperate pleas that Jeremiah is speaking of.
• • I know my sinful inclinations. Therefore, I make my appeal to God who sees clearly and completely. Let me be true to what He reveals to me, not the ebbing of my unstable heart.
