Hebrews 1:

• We often say “Why has God not spoken?” And yet, I sit here and read this book. It seems that the writer of Hebrews heard the same accusations. In verse 1 we read that God has spoken! (“at many times and in many ways”) Now, coming ever nearer to God’s completed plan, the Son speaks. In so doing, God himself speaks! (vs. 3)
• I can hear God in the order of Creation. I can hear God in the sovereign unfolding of history. I can hear God through his Spirit placed in my heart by faith, convicting and teaching. I can hear God in the fellowship of believers, the Church. Most objectively, I can hear God in this written Word, the Bible.

God, I can hear you! Holy Spirit, help me effectively listen.
