The Firmest Promise

Hebrews 6:

  • There is no one greater than God. The degree to which God wanted His promise to His children through Abraham to be a certainty, required swearing by His own name. God’s greatness (vs. 13-16) and the impossibility of God lying (vs. 18) give us a “steadfast anchor for the soul”. (vs. 19)
  • It is on this foundation that gives us the hope of things to come (vs. 19-20), that I believe we gain the confidence to do incredible, crazy, risky things in the present.

Holy Spirit, help me grow in the certainty of the promises, that I might live today like I truly believe in “that day”!
