Deuteronomy 7

• I know that the total destruction of the inhabitants of the land is commanded by the LORD. Also, several times it is stated that a reason for this severe action is because the Israelites would be turned away from the LORD. If the LORD is Creator of the universe, then being in a position of opposition to Him would be the least safe place to be. A part of me wants to hold out hope of redemption for these people, but if God is omniscient and says that they will not turn, then I would have to trust His wisdom above my instinct.

LORD, help me to have the courage and boldness to trust You above even my own sensibilities; even when it’s hard, even when it’s unpopular, even when I’m scared.
