Psalms 120-122:
- The psalmist says that he is “for peace” and that his speaking moves others to war. (120:7) Is this because his “peace” is inner, but when he speaks, he betrays this “peace”? OR is there a “peace” that is inherently at war with this world? My understanding of peace (shalom) leans toward the latter.
- Thank God that as I struggle for true peace, I have a God who holds me steady through the storms. Even when I am the storm that is shaking my foundations. (121)
Thank You LORD for being my strong and trustworthy God! Please bring peace to Your people (122). But bring true peace, not vain tranquility.
