The Irony of Faith

Romans 3:

  • The mysterious grace of God, who can simultaneously see our sinfulness (vs. 23) and use even this for His purposes (vs. 7)! The law that reveals my need (vs. 20), is fulfilled in Jesus (Matthew 5:17), who leveraged his righteous value to fill up the necessary consequences of our sin (vs. 25, see 2 Corinthians 5:21). I need only to believe that this transaction took place and trust it’s ability (“faith”); and in so doing, I end up upholding the same law that I violate (vs. 31).
    • Praise God for this mysterious plan that opens the doors of freedom and peace with, and through Jesus Christ!
