Psalm 73:
- Life is not easy, it never has been. We were created finite and desperately needy. We struggle to discern our own hearts, let alone the hearts of others. In this psalm, we can see the psalmist’s wrestling, confessing in vs. 16 his inability to understand. (Probably because, by God’s design, we were not meant to understand all these things, but trust God.) Vss. 21-22 tell me that it’s not unlikely, when I agonize about these things, for me to turn against even God in some way. Thank God for vs. 23, even then, God is with me! The remainder of the psalm declares God’s sovereign working in all of these things. In the end, God alone is our final joy and foundation! This is worth declaring. (vs. 28)
