Romans 8:
- In the latter parts of this chapter, Paul is making a case for our security in Jesus. There are 2 VERY difficult lists (vs. 35-36 & 38-39) that are filled with everything life has to damage us with. (Read each of these lists slowly, pondering each item and considering what it realistically means in your life experiences). When I compare the “ALL things” in vs. 28 & 37, I’m left to conclude that IN Christ, when my love for Jesus rules every thought, emotion, and action; not only can these difficult things not damage me, but God uses them to serve us, for our good! I’m always reminded here of Joseph’s words to his brothers in Genesis 50:20, “you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good”
