Hebrews 5:
- I wonder how the writer of Hebrews felt. Wanting to say so many wonderful things (vs. 11), he was limited by the unjustified immaturity of his audience. (vs. 12) How quickly these early believers became complacent with general understanding, not probing to know and enjoy the deeper things of God. The writer is reduced to having to start again with the basics of their faith (vs. 12) so that he might build skills that lead toward vibrant, joyful, victorious righteousness. (vs. 13-14)
Holy Spirit, please do Your work of softening hearts! How Your children today need to hunger again for Jesus and all that He commanded us. (Matt. 28:20)
