2 Thessalonians 2:
- Paul writes that before Jesus returns there will be wide-spread deception, causing people to believe in lies (vs. 11). What made people susceptible to these lies was their failure to have “pleasure in” righteousness (vs. 12). Do we know “righteousness”? Do we love righteousness? The Bible speaks of a self-righteousness that does not save but deceives. Can we discern the difference? Do we know what is good and just and beautiful? If not, we risk great danger. Humble petition is our best start for seeking and loving righteousness.

- Father, show me what true righteousness is. Holy Spirit, awaken my heart to love, even crave, Your righteousness.
