Deuteronomy 1a:

• How long is long enough? In vs. 6 the LORD says that He moved Hs people from the mountain in Hoerr because they stayed long enough. I have no idea what the circumstances were in their day, but I wonder if God sometimes looks at us and says, “Move on!” If He did, could I hear? Would I obey? And if I obeyed, would I do it with the boldness He expects in the context of community pressures? For, in vs. 17 the LORD commands the leaders to NOT be intimidated by those who want to sway leadership with their own desires.
  • LORD, help me to hear You. Help me to obey You. Help me to have the courage to do this even when some may discourage me from Your will in my life.
